Pilkington Profilit, the new name for Reglit Glass in the UK by Glass Profiled Solutions, signifies a fresh approach to glass refurbishment. The name and brand Reglit Glass remain the property of Pilkington and can only be used with their permission. All previously completed projects featuring Reglit channelled glass are included within the National Pilkington Profilit Register of Completed Projects.

Reglit channel glass has been in use across the UK for approximately 50 years. Many of those original installations - in hospitals, schools, transport hubs, commercial buildings and residential developments - are now reaching the point where renewal or refurbishment is appropriate. GPS holds records of a substantial number of completed Reglit projects and can confirm your installation's original specification from our project register.

Depending on the condition of your existing installation and your building's requirements, GPS can advise on three routes: full renewal using current Pilkington Profilit components; targeted refurbishment retaining the existing frame with new glass, or maintenance to extend the life of your original Reglit system. All options can be explored without obligation.

Modern Pilkington Profilit components represent a significant technical advance on systems installed in the 1970's and 1980's. Current U-values reach as low as 0.73W/m2K, acoustic performance extends to 57dB, and solar gain control has improved substantially. Renewal allows the original aesthetic to be preserved - or refreshed - while delivering energy performance that could not have been achieved at the time of the original Reglit installation.

GPS confirm from our records that your building features an existing or early Pilkington Profilit installation. This allows us to discuss the original specification, glass type, frame configuration, and any known issues before a site visit is arranged.

Following a review of your installation - and taking into account any Building Control changes since the original install date - GPS will set out the available options in plain terms: full renewal, part renewal, refurbishment, or maintenance. We advise on what is appropriate, not what is most commercially convenient for us.

Once you have selected a preferred route, GPS will advise on specification. Where a renewal is chosen, we can match the existing glass type precisely, or propose an upgrade - for example, moving from clear to patterned or low-iron glass, or improving the thermal performance of the frame system.

GPS will provide reliable budget costings before you commit to anything. Should you proceed we will manage the entire process - design, supply and installation - under a single contract, with project warranties on completion.

The Reglit Renewal platform reflects our long-term commitment to every Pilkington Profilit and Reglit installation in the UK. It is provided without obligation to existing customers. To begin the process, contact us with your building address and we will check our project register and respond promptly.
