Profilit channel glass transmits up to 86% visible light (depending on glass type), filling teaching spaces with even, glare-controlled daylight without the need for extensive secondary shading. Pilkington Profilit channel glass is classified A1 (non-combustible) to EN 13501-1  - the highest non-combustible rating available for glazing - an important consideration for education buildings where fire safety strategies are subject to close scrutiny.

Acoustic performance is equally important in schools, where noise transfer between classrooms, corridors and external environments affects learning. Profilit systems achieve sound reduction figures of up to 57dB depending on configuration, helping schools meet acoustic design standards for teaching spaces
